NWR - 9/11
Okay so I realize there is a NWR board, but I figure to get more of a response here. Do any of you girls work in NYC? Are you coming to the city tomorrow? Do you think it's 'safe'?I wasn't giving it much thought, but my FILs and my family were discussing it, and now they've totally freaked me out...

Yes. My fiance is a Police Officer from Scotland. He has come accross with 300 British Police to pay their respects. We will be a couple of memorial ceremonies, all in Manhattan. I truly believe with the country on it's highest alert, NYC is probablyt he safest place to be in the world this week.Don't be afraid, show the bad guys theydon't win.

I will be coming to work tomorrow. We are only working a half day. I think most companies are closed or are giving employees a half day.

I work right in the World Financial Center, right next door to the WTC. My company closed for the day - thought all the media and tourists would be too much for us to handle.

I will be in the city tomorrow I work in Mid-town (park Ave) my office is open the whole day. I am a little nervous about tomorrow. But I think we should be fine. My FI is a NY police officer he has a detail in Brooklyn. I am sure if he thought it would not be safe he would tell me to stay home.

I will be off tomorrow, a voluntary choice. I do not fear for my safety, but my husband is a NYC firefighter who was directly invloved with 9/11. I feel it will be a tough day for him and I don't want him to go through it alone

Re: NWR - 9/11
I'll be here at work (Karen, I'm in the WFC also!!). I figured if I was home, I'd be consumed by the news specials and I'd sink deeper into my worries. I've found a great deal of comfort in my co-workers...they saw what I saw, they understand what I feel. We all want to be in the office together.I hope that whatever you decide to do tomorrow, that you all are able to find some sense of peace. Remember and pray for those lost, but also count your blessings and appreciate all that you do have.

I'll be working in the city tomorrow, too. I have to admit I am a bit nervous about riding the LIRR into Penn Station, but I agree with what another poster said, I don't want to be home watching all the specials on TV. In a way it is a bit fitting for me to be at work, because I will be with all the people I was with last year at the time. But I really don't know how I will feel tomorrow. I'm glad to see there are so many of us who will be going into work. I would feel really alone if everyone else was staying home.

I will be in work tomorrow too. I work at Madison Square Garden(right above Penn Station.)I am a little nervous but more for my fiance then myself. He is also a NYC police officer and will be on a detail in NYC. It will be a tough day, we lost a few loved ones. I'm sure everything will be ok, but I think everyone will be a little on edge and emotions will be high. I'll never forget what we went through last year. It will be a very sad day.....I hope everyone is safe.

Re: NWR - 9/11
I am NOT coming into the City tomorrow. I know, I shouldn't be worried but in honestly, I am. Also I work downtown and the place will be crawling with people, plus transportation will be messed up down here while the President is on site etc...I am working from home.
