NWR: A christening gift ?

NWR: A christening gift ?

I don't know what to give my very good neighbor for her daughters christening. Her older daughter (4) was my FG and we have been exchanging gifts since she moved in about 3 years ago.
I don't want to seem to cheap, but I don't want to seem to money pants ( know what I mean).
Any suggestions? Thanks girls!

$100-150 savings bond

Hmmm... I'm assuming you are close with them, then, from your post?

I think in this situation, it completely depends on what you can afford to spend.

If you can afford $50, I'd get a $100 savings bond for the child.

If you can afford $100, I'd either get a $200 savings bond or give a $100 check. I think, though, that you don't need to spend this much money!! (I just went to my cousin's child's christening and we gave a $100 check, which I thought was pretty generous! Their kids are like my nieces and nephews, though, so we went on the generous side...)

If you want to spend under $50, I'd probably give some sort of gift, like a nice photo album or one of those keepsake boxes. If you're near any outlet stores, look for the children's china. You can sometimes get a set for around $50, and that's a lovely gift.

But I agree with the above that a $100-150 savings bond is plenty generous.

I totally agree with this post. I think if you can spend $50 for a $100 bond, that's more than enough.

I can't believe how many people said 100 dollars! That is VERY generous for a christening. I think you can buy a cute outfit at Kid City for under 10 bucks and then put in a savings bond for $100 which only costs you $50. That should be more than generous.

i put $100 dollars, but i think it depends on the relation and the type of party the person is having.

I was invited to a christening party at the sandcastle. I brought FH and i gave $150
