NWR: a HUGE branch hit my car

So i am only back to work for 2 days, and i carpooled with someone today, i come home and find my side mirror hanging off my car and a lot of dents and scratches all over my car,
apparently a huge branch fell and hit my car, my neighbors saw it and moved the branch but told me about it when they saw it,
so my question is i took pictures and called the comptrollers office to send me a claim form BUT do they ever really give you anything or do anything, my insurance co, said to go through the city first then go to them

anyone have any experience with this, or any advice
thanks

I'm not sure on this but you may want to check your co-pay for your no-fault car insurance. Sometimes they will increase your premium bc of a claim. It may not be worth going through insurance. First see what the town will do and then get some estimates.

OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD a branch hit my car too and dented it!!! I couldn't believe that a branch would make a dent but it did!!!!

Then 2 days later someone side swiped me in my parking lot... I come out to my car and there is a huge dent in the side of it and no note!!! HOW MEAN!!!!!!!! We have assigned parking spots and the streaks all over the dent are red... and the next door spot has a read car... hummm I wonder who did it... but then when I confronted her she said no... and I couldn't do anything after that.

Well I still have yet to get etiher fixed b/c I dont' want to pay a 500 buck deductible... but at this point now that I have a huge dent it might be worth it.

Ok... thats my story... So I guess I have no advice for you b/c I am in the same boat. Let me know how it works out with the insurance thing...

You might want to check with your policy as to any deadlines to submit claims to your insurance company. This way if you don't get reimbursed by the City, you don't run the risk of missing a deadline for filing with your insurance carrier.
