OMGOSH! She's CRAZY!!!!! I'm so sorry you had to go thru all of that on top of mourning a loss. At least it sounds like you have a great FH who will stand up to anything and anyone for you.

Oh Diane, I am so sorry! What a selfish manipulative woman!!! She must have passed on ALL of her good qualitites to your wonderful FH because she obviously doesn't have any left. Ignore the woman or kill her with kindness. Either way, you're the better person. And good for you for standing your ground (it was a screaming match but nonetheless you didn't back down.) Hang in there Diane!

Ugh Diane that's horrible. Honestly she sounds like my grandma and how she used to be towards my mom (her daughter in law). Have you ever watched 'Everybody loves Raymond' or the “Monster in Law” well as sad as that is, that is exactly how your FMIL sounds. It's like they're scared to lose their son and they specifically act like a child and stupid to try and 'win' the attention of they son. I know how hard of a situation that is first hand from what I've seen just try as hard as you can (even though I'm sure you wanna punch her across the face probably lol) to be civil and the better person. Is Jesse aware of how upset she makes you, not just that he knows it upsets you but does he completely understand that it's his mother that is in the wrong?

So sorry to hear about your FH loss. I can not blelive she did that to you and made you feel that way. I am so sorry. My FH's mother used to make me feel that way. Like I was not good enough for him or something, but then I put my foot down and let her know that I am the one he chooses to be with and to spend the rest of his life with so get used to it. (not exactly in those words but...) She treats me like gold now. Still annoying at times but I know how to put her in her place. lol Some mothers just don't know how to be happy for there boys and let them go from the nest.
My are with you and his family.

awww im sorry FMIL suck butt. Its such an inappropriate time for her to do something like that considering the circumstances. I can definitely relate to you - you know all the terror stories aboout sean's mom and you wouldnt even believe what she did at his cousin's funeral. I definitely feel your psycho MIL pain! Dont let her get to you and just think how lucky you are that she lives in NJ and not near you

Re: NWR: A MUST READ grrrrr
This is a grown woman?
Is your FH italian? a woman I used to work with (and I consider her a second mother) has a son who she is RIDICULOUSLY protective over. He got married and had a kid with this woman, and his mother refuses to accept her and treats her like GARBAGE. I mean she says NASTY things right to her face - I've witnessed it!
No one is good enough for her son. It's just ridiculous. I mean, I'm not one to make threats, but I would say to my MIL if she was a b!itch - 'Treat me with respect, or you wont see your grandkids. This is MY husband, and this is OUR life.'
That's just absurd. And regardless of the funeral and the terrible loss, no grown woman should talk to ANYONE that way.
