NWR Adopt a soldier

NWR Adopt a soldier

This is a really wonderful thing that my alma mater is doing to support our troops in Iraq. I encourage you to put politics aside and sign up, especially during the holidays when the troops are even more homesick.

I'm a little confused... do you just wear the bracelet or is it like a letter writing program as well?

BUMP for the holiday so we can support those away from home...

I posted something about 'Operation Shoebox' a few weeks back and the post got ZERO replies.

You can go to the website... www.operationshoebox.com

Basically it's a care package fit in a shoebox. You can drop it off to local veterans agencies and they mail it.

My high school World History students are doing this and FH and I (because we are getting married on July 4th) will be doing this in lieu of favors.

FM me if you'd like more info.

Awesome Daniela. I adopted a soldier through a site called angels wings or something similar. Still waiting for his/her name.....and then I'm going to send a letter & a package. Great idea. Thanks for the site info.

I got a name about a week ago but hadn't written or sent anything yet... I got another e-mail today saying that the solider whose name I was given was killed last week from a bomb. So sad!!!

All signed up - what a great idea - especially right now - I'm going to have my son help me out with it.
