NWR: advice with work.

NWR: advice with work.

Ok a little background: I was always the smartest in my class - may sound snotty but it is my one and only talent and i am proud of that

then i got my first real job and just about the time i got out of training - some stuff happened and i got really depressed, this unfortunately showed in my work - i was making stupid mistakes and messing up - of course my superiors didnt know WHY they just thought i was dumb i guess.

So bc of these mistakes i am WAY behind the rest of the people who started with me. . . at first your work gets reviewed by a mentor - i got off review MONTHS after everyone else this past February. . .it was so embarassing and generally made me even sadder but whatever

ok now they are holding these 'workshops' for basic computer functions that help with our job. It is for the older people basically. It is literally help with Cut and Paste, Excel programs and basic computer skills. My boss asked for volunteers to teach the class.

Here is my question: Should I keep my head down and try to prove myself through my hard work and consistent improvement?

OR

Would it look better if I volunteered for this special assignment?

Any insight would be great!

def volunteer if you think its something you could do well!!!

Sticking your head out a little and showing them that you are an intelligent person who just had a rough start, won't hurt you

sometime you have to brown nose a little!!!

if you feel like you could teach the class go for it! it may be a boost for your self confidence! and also will look good that your willing to take on responsibility!

i would volunteer to show them you are interested in your job and you have initiative!

i think you should go for it. taking the extra step proves that you are taking initiative to be an asset to the company. it will also boost your confidence, and with confidence comes a better ability to learn! dont worry, i know how you feel, ive been there many times. some people start off a little slower but when they get the hang of things accelerate way above the curve. im one of those people!
