NWR: Alopecia

Hey,

First Thanks to all the girls who responded in my first post.

Second, I am almost positive this is what I have. I have every symptom to a T.

My eyebrow feel out , only the left one though oddly. It is slightly growing back in but the hairs are white :( I have to draw it in every single day not fun at all :(

I have a big ole bald spot on the back of my head, only one patch so far, thank god but still :(

Anybody know anyone with this or have any advice/experience.

I am afraid to walk down the aisle bald :(

You should definitely go and see a doctor.
I didn't see your previous post.
They also have vitamins to help with the hair growth.
Are you under a lot of stress? That can definitely cause that.....and don't wash your hair every day.
Best of luck !

My husband has this. He doesn't have a hair on his body. At times, some tiny white hairs will start to grow back, but he just shaves them off. Definitely go to a doctor..there are medications you can take to get your hair growing again. DH was on meds when he was younger for it..but he decided to just stop.

for the time being, til you get to a doctor, maybe get some hair dye to dye the white hairs back to your color..I am sure it will make you feel better, instead of having to use make-up each day.
But definitely get to the doctor as soon as you can because they do have medication for it.

Lots og hugs and no matter what you will still be an amazingly beautiful bride..full head of hair, no hair, white hair...you will see be beautiful!!

2 of my friends have it. In one friend it's very severe and she wears a wig and the other has ups and down. She gets cortisone shots in her scalp weekly I think and they do help. Her condition gets worse as her stress levels rise. I woudl definitley go to the doctor to get checked out.

Good Luck - you will be a beautiful bride no matter what!

Re: NWR: Alopecia

you may need to get your thyroid and all hormones tested.. eyebrow loss is associated with thryoid issues... also anemia.
if you are losing hair in literal circles... ( not diffuse hair loss) then definately sounds like alopecia areata.
reg alopecia is all over... areata is in circles.

( i am a hair stylist lol)

please see a doc asap to make sure you arent having medical issues or any autoimmune issues.

also i might want to advise not doing anything drastic to the eyebrows before seeing a doc bc they might want to see the pattern of hair loss.

a reg gp/endocrinologist/or dermatolgist should be able to help!!
feel better!!

As a doctor myself, I doubt anyone will prescribe anything without seeing you first. On the bright side, after they run some tests they will likely have a better idea what the cause is, and be able to treat it appropriatly. But good luck and keep me updated.
