NWR-Alternative to plastic water bottles

I usually just reuse the poland spring water bottles but now im concerned b/c of all the new about it being toxic!!!

What's the alternative to buying a new one every day!!!

Are there any Thermos like things that aren't toxic and can be reused all the time and keep the water cold???

TIA

I've hear with too much use the plastic starts to give off a toxic chemical!!!

What is considered too much use? Wouldn't that be the same for most plastic water bottles though, like the sports bottles?

i think there is a new type of 'thermos water bottle' that is safe.. I just can't find what it's called.

The chemical is only given off if you HEAT anything inside of it. So the water bottles should b safe BUT if you use tupperware you should take out what you have in it and put it into a bowl before heating it.

Ways to reduce exposure to bisphenol-a, or BPA
- Determine which containers might contain BPA. Containers made of clear, hard plastic are likely made from polycarbonate; the containers also can be colored.
Those with BPA usually have the numeral 7 on or near the bottom of the product, or also may be labeled with the letters 'PC.'

- Choose glass, porcelain or stainless steel containers, particularly for hot foods or liquids.
- Use glass or BPA-free baby bottles.

- Reduce use of canned foods.

- Do not microwave polycarbonate food containers, as they may eventually break down due to the high temperatures.

i just read this

http://www.nzfsa.govt.nz/consumers/food-safety-topics/chemicals-in-food/waterbottles/index.htm

although i did hear on the news not to reuse plastic water bottles...and i had read before that heating plastic releases chemicals etc.

so i basically skip the plastic. i drink my water in my porcelain mug at work....although that doesn't help with bringing it places.
