no if its what you want to do. But honestly your going into a career which you may not find a job right away and can you risk that? That is my only negative comment with changing careers and now that everyone wants to be a teacher due to high pay good benefits they are very competitive positions.

Not too old at all! Plus, if you have kids- I think teaching is one of the best jobs to have- if you work... I remember I had some teachers that were absolutely in their 60's and maybe even older - LOL!!!

No. It's never too late. If being a teacher is what you want to do-then you should do it. However, as a teacher myself, I must tell you that it's really difficult for recent graduates to get a job in this field. If teaching elementary is your dream- then you might want to consider getting certification in special education and childhood elementary together. If you're dual certified, that will open the door to more teaching opportunities. If you need any help, FM me.

Re: NWR - am i too old
I don't think its crazy at all. But just be prepared that it may take you a while to get a job. I graduated in 2004 with my masters in spec ed (and in 2002 with my BA in el ed.) and I finalyl got a job last year in Queens.
But if its something you really want to do then go for it!!
