NWR - Anxiety

NWR - Anxiety

i'm normally in bed by now, but lately I am having a hard time sleeping. my mind is racing. not so much worrying about the wedding. i wonder will i make a good wife.. a good mother. worry about my job, family etc. Anxiety does run in my family (on my mother's side). i was doing fine for awhile but lately i just seem to be a bundle of nerves & worry about everything. For example, i keep worrying about my FH health. he has high cholestroyl & i am not the best cook. i keep beating myself up that i can't cook decent healthy meals.

any suggestions?? i really feel uncomfortable going to a doctor. I don't want to start popping pills. I started going to church again & that has helped a little.

Anybody else ever feel this way....

thanks for listening

honestly, i dont know if it will work for you but when i start thinking about things like this, i just tell myself that i will be fine, everything will be ok. its not going to be as bad as i think it could be. I am so proud of myself for getting to this point and so should you.

I get extremely anxious too...

I don't really have an answer for you... things that help me are making lists and crossing them off , talking to my grandma who is really good at un-stressing me and playing with my kitties.

FM me if you want to talk more...

I've dealt with anxiety myself, and so many of my friends have as well so please don't feel as though you're alone. I understand your apprehension towards medication, but please don't underestimate how helpful talking with a therapist might be. Sometimes talking to someone who is completely unbiased about your situation can really help you put things in perspective. If you need to talk, feel free to FM.

I've been having similar issues, but work related stress. My mind races at night. It may sound cheesy, but what works for me is to try and focus on something that is happy or soothing (thinking of relaxing on a beach with a frozen margarita) and it helps. When I get really worked up or know I need to get up early I will occasionally take a tylenol pm.

I have felt this way all too often, so I know how it is. It can really put a big damper on your life and relationships. I never went to a doctor for it until recentle and it has helped sooo much. By going it does not mean that you have to pop pills, they can just help you deal with it better. As far as your worries, it is normal and I think it is just part of all the life changing evnts that are going on in your life. Tell your FH to eat lots of oatmeal, I lowered my cholesterol by 60 points by eating it a few times a week and that was only over a few months. Try not to stress to much and try going to a doctor, if it is not for you at least you did that. Good luck and if you need a doctor FM me and I will give you his info.
