I've been thinking of going on BC for awhile, but never made the leap for a few reasons. One is FH and I don't live together, so it's like I'd be medicated all the time and we only get to DTD infrequently. Another is my mom is REALLY religious and if she found out, she'd freak out, and a third is that I'm worried about the side effects.
Now that AF was late this month, it not only caused me to freak the heck out, but it also means AF will likely start on the first day of my honeymoon, so I'll likely me miserable for half of it. UGH. So this is prompting me to want to get on BC. Hopefully I can use it to move AF, or maybe it will be less.
I;m really REALLY nervous about this, I'm really bad, and I've only even ever been to the gyn once, and I'm worried I'll gain the weight I've been trying to hard to lose or get headaches, etc etc.
Can you give any advice?
TIA!

Re: NWR: Any girls on BC?
ask your doctor about Loestrin you should be able to adjust in about 3 months...I have not gained any weight and I have used to it 'adjust' my schedule! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

LOL...OMG it must be the month because I got mine today and my wedding is on the 10th and was worried about the same thing...(getting it on the wedding) I would die if that happend. My brothers GF is on seasonique and she loves it! she only gets 4 periods a year...WHAT!!! I am going to ask my OBGYN about it because FH and I are going for a baby right after the wedding. I don't want to risk that being held up to long with BC!!

Re: NWR: Any girls on BC?
I recently lost a lot of weight.
I've been on bc since I was 16.
When I went on loestrin I originally gained 15lbs.
I'm on yaz now and dieting/going to the gym I'm steadily losing still.
Although my period has totally stopped now.
Also whenever I switch pills, I become a totally angry beast. Like it f-s with my hormones and makes me really really cranky for a few weeks. than I level out.

I was on BCP for about 8 years and I got off it. You should talk to your doc about the concerns that you have but here's my personal exp with them. I gained weight when I first went on it and had the crazy mood swings. It was horrible! I skipped the placebos here and there so that i wouldn't have AF for vacas which was really convinient. I stopped taking them b/c i kept on forgetting to take them plus I was a smoker - probably not a good idea. Now I'm glad I don't take them b/c 1) $ in my pocket 2) lost weight 3) no crazy mood swings
and btw, you need to go to your doc at least once a year!!
