Did any of you girls hear about an RN that was attacked in a Long Island Hospital today? My mother just told me it was on the news this morning, but didn't say what hospital.

Re: NWR: Any RN's
weird! my parents and I had an issue with a crazy patient when he was in there. He started ripping down the ceiling tiles in the next room, then...this other patient who told me 900 times his name was mamy got agitated and had to be physically restrained in a chair in the hallway.
he kept coming into my dads room and causing everyone grief.
and I thought that hospital was now called NS / LIJ.
anyway...insanity.
I feel for those RNs.

I'm not surprised by this. I work Psych, so I've seen it happen. I was just curious which hospital this was at. This is just the type of job it is unfortunately.

Franklin hospital on franklin ave. I've seen a lot of interesting things there. my dad spent a lot of time there w his knee replacements and blood clot and my mom was there 6 weeks for rehab after she shattered her leg in an accident.
I will tell you though, they have some of the nicest nurses there ever.

Re: NWR: Any RN's
Thanks to the New York State Nurses Association, it is now a felony to assault a nurse. The bill adds registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to assault of emergency medical professionals and provides for class C and D felonies for physical injury to them. Thank NYSNA for that!
