NWR: Anyone ever been to Atlantis, Paradise Island?
FH and his family planned a trip in August to the Bahamas...we're all staying at the Atlantis which is so expensive, I kinda regret agreeing to go bc it seems its gonna cost a fortune...
Anyway, I was wondering if any of you ladies have gone? And if so, did you do any of their dining plans? Are they worth it?

I did the Cove at the Atlantis last year. It is AMAZING and the Atlantis is so fun, so many things to do!
Didn't do a dining plan but I can tell you that its VERY expensive to eat there, so it may be worth it! Make sure of what it includes though...

My parents took the family to Atlantis the summer before I went to college. So about 9 years ago. It was BEAUTIFUL! I would've had an even better time if I wasn't 18 and vacationing with my parents......but still, it was great.
I think we only had the breakfast and lunch dining options, because we ate dinner away from the resort just about every single night. The breakfast buffet there was absolutely incredible and there was one restaurant we had lunch in......I can't remember it but it was down by the water slide......it was really good. I would definitely put in a meal plan though, it can get REALLY expensive.

thanks girls. The meal plan covers breakfast and dinner and is $70 per person per day, so we're considering it, the only thing holding me back is it doesnt include drinks. You only get juice included for breakfast and coffee/tea for dinner but dinner is appetizer, soup/salad, entree, dessert and coffee ....We have up until 3 days before we leave for the trip to get the meal plan so i;m weighing the options.

Go to the Atlantis website and sign up for the updates. Also, check sites like cheapcarribean and travelzoo.com. They always seem to have a lot of deals for the Atlantis.

I have gone.. and its SUPER DUPER PRICEY! seriously the regular rooms are its just a bed and like a tv and thats it.. its not even fancy.. I was like what the eff for all this money? So one day I saw the housekeeper cleanging and she left so I stuck my head in the door of a few rooms to compare (Im not psycho I just needed to know! ) and the regular ones all looked like mine but the more expensive ones were a little more done up. That said, the grounds and the pools were to die for! They have like 3 different pools wich are all beautiful because they are shaped differently, one is a slide. And the whole main floor is like mother ship of shopping, except I couldnt afford anyhting because its stores like DG and Fendi! lol

I was suppose to be there for 5 days in may!! I won a free trip at my job for a job well done! but the trip was canceled because my company didnt want it to look bad sending 500 people to Atlantis when the economy is so bad!! they gave us the money the trip would have cost so i just use that for my HM so in the end not so bad!!!

I went recently and I was really, really disappointed in Atlantis but that may be because they are overpriced IMO

Did you do any of their dining plans or did you just wing it? Which tower did you stay in?

I have been there, I stayed in the Royal Towers the cove wasn't even built yet lol. It was awesome FH and I didn't do a meal plan and we were really happy about it b/c in the end, we spent less money on food than we would have if we agreed to the meal plan.
