Ok...Long Story Short: My cell phone isn't working - no one can hear me.... I think my FH is happy that he can't hear me yell at him. It's all scratchy and stuff.
Anywho, I just bought the phone in March so I just called and they said I can go to the store and they would look at it and possibly give me a new one if it is truly broken.
Anyone do this before?
And I checked the website and my phone isn't even listed on their anymore... so what do they do then?
The verizon store by my house is horrible...and I am not looking forward to going there.

Re: NWR: Anyone ever deal with Verizon?
I have done it MANY times! They are usually very good about it! Sometimes they can fix it on the spot, like 1 hour or so!
Do you have insurance on your phone? If not, they still should not give you a problem considering it is only a couple of months old! Do you go to the one on Sunrise Hwy??? I hate them but they do the job!

I think if the phone is broken bc of a manufacturers defect they will replace it not if you broke it. Basically I think they will replace it for you. I dropped water on my phone (didn't tell them of course) and they replaced mine. If they still dont make your old model they will give you a comparable model. I hate dealing with cell phone companies but it you are polite and persistent they usually come through.

Your phone is pretty much under warranty for one year, and insurance helps as well.
My phone was out of warranty when it got all messed up, but they replaced it for me, for free.
If they don't have your phone now, they'll offer you one equal or more value.

FH brought his in. They said it would take 1 hour, but when we got back after 1 hour they said it wasn't fixable so they gave him a new phone. Pretty easy!

Verizon is great like that - the only thing they won't replace is a cracked cover (from dropping/sitting on/running over with a CAR), and water damage (sometimes they can't tell it's water damage, but most phones have a label on the inside that turns colors when it's been wet, so they are usually able to tell).
I'm very happy w/ my verizon.

Re: NWR: Anyone ever deal with Verizon?
I am not totally pleased with Verizon.
I had AT&T (until it became Cingular) and FI had Sprint.
We just got our phones replaced by Verizon. We got them in February (one plan and same phone) and I was having the same issue - people could not hear me but I coud hear them. FI's buttons were sticking. They sent us new phones via Fedex within a few days.
FI's battery dies now within an hour or so and we plan to take his replacement phone in to Verizon this week to see what's wrong with it. My replacement phone does not show the time anymore on the front (flip phone). I suspect the replacement phones are not new but refurbished.

Re: NWR: Anyone ever deal with Verizon?
So... I go and the guy goes into the back and says the following:
oh yes, it's a programming thing. i'll do this in an hour and you'll be good to go.
I say, 'ok, just to want to make sure that my phone itself is ok. if it isn't a programming thing, what's the next step?'
He then takes a QUICK glance at my phone and says 'oh yes, you have corosion in the charger thing. the programming won't work, i'll short circuit your phone. you need to buy a new one.'
are you kidding me?
I don't have insurance on it, no one ever offered it to me. It never got dropped in water (and there is a pink indicator that tells you to if we did).
So, I decide to punch '1' for 'reprogram your phone' instead of '2' to update your wireless capabilities. Afterwards, I call my FH and he tells me... oh yeah, you sound so much better than before!!! Could it be that the guy set up the programming and I used it by accident?
Anywho, I think I am going to hold off, see if it really gets bad and then deal with it. They guy pretty much told me to go on Ebay and buy a new one.
Another question, did anyone merge with their FH to get familyshare?

Glad things 'sorta' worked out.
Yes, FH and I have a family share plan! Well worth it.
One of you would have to either wait until one of your contracts' are up before doing so.

Oh boy! All that & all you had to do was reprogram for now at least! If they give you a hard time, you tell them that you are going to the public service commission because the phone is only 5 months old! there should not be corrossion anywhere!
My parents have the family shareplan & it is good but if you or FH use a lot of minutes, stay separate! You have to share the minutes on the familyshare. I know FH will be converting to Verizon in a month or too...He has had it with Nextel!

His is up next month and he is dying for a phone.
If my phone acts up again, I might just take his old phone.
I was just playing around with my phone in my office to test it out and it 'seems' to be much better than before....
I can't belive how our lives shut down if we don't have our cell phones!

We have family share ($200 for 2500 minutes)and used like 5,000 minutes last month between work calls and personal. Thank God it's free for us to call each other otherwise our $200 plan would have cost us $$$$$
