My mom is picking me up at 6 today from the Valley Stream train station and we'll have 2 hours to kill before my 8pm meeting with FM Entertainment. Can anyone recommend a restaurant to get dinner that is close to the Valley Stream train station??? Thanks!

On Rockaway Avenue, there's:
Mitchell's - American/diner type Itgen's - American type with AMAZING ice cream Ancona's - pizza Il Bagatto (just south of Sunrise) - Italian And another Italian place (I forget the name) just south of Merrick Road. The Concord Diner is on the corner of Sunrise and Rockaway, and the Valbrook diner is about a half-mile east on Merrick Road.

I do love Ancona pizza. My grandparents used to live in VS, we were always so excited to go visit and get pizza with them.

Well you will be near the mall (green acres) however you can try a pad thai place on central ave going away from the mall next to Cvs!! it btween merrick ave and central! good luck

haha i'd make the trip over to Elmont to King Umbertos but that's just me. It's a easy trip and about 10 min away. (Take Rockaway down past the hospital, make a left on dutch, a right on meacham and ur there!).

I used to work at Itgens!!! It has the best homemade ice cream in the world. And their dinners are FABULOUS!!! I still drive into Valley Stream every so often to get real hot fudge and eat a good meal!
Also, Ancona's has delicious pizza!! Yummy.
ETA: The Concord Diner used to be great but it's been a long time since I was there.

OMG Anconas has THE best pizza ever, IMO!! Our team used to go there after every one of my soccer games when I was little and since we only live a few mins away in Lynbrook, my fam goes there alot! I love Itgens too. There is also a Hibachi place on Rockaway called Inatome. Delicious there as well!
