nwr: anyone have a pet that is ALWAYS sick?? UPDATE

I have a bulldog that I love more than anything and my little guy is always sick! He goes to the vet at least 2-3 times a month. He doesn't even play with his toys anymore, he just sleeps all the time. He has so many problems and I have taken him to so many different places and no one can help him His biggest problem is allergies, he has food and environmental allergies. He throws up all the time, and is always red and irratetated. He has infections constantly and now he has a growth under one of his paws We are going to the vet in the morning so please keep him in your thoughts.

**********UPDATE*********

So we went to the vet this morning and he said the growth looks like a tumor So he took a small biopsy and we have to go back in 5 days to determine if it is defenitly a tumor and if it is he needs surgery. It must be killing him because he keeps his paw tucked under him

aww poor doggie..
do live such a short life and then to have all those problems too...how depressing.
i hope he gets better

I don;t know where your vet is or if you like him/her. . . BUT I have a really great vet in Plainview on Old Country Road. He may be able to help your baby.

The place is called Old Country Animal Clinic and you want to see Dr. Monaco! I have brought him my puppy, my bird, my hamster and my iguanas (I have been going to him for years - I don't have the iguanas anymore) He has saved many of their lives and helped them with problems.

I hear you and feel your pain. My dog is always sick also....he is only 9 months and he had a pneumonia 3 days after we got him. He almost died but after 2 weeks in ICU at the pet ER he made it through. We had to follow that up with 1 month of nebulizer treatments bc he wasn't completely cured & tons of meds. He also had worms. He has chronic ear infections which are related to some sort of food allergy. He recently started with a limp and there was a possibility of Lyme's Disease...turns out it is a minor hip displasia !!! In the future this may mean a total hip replacement !! Unbelievable !! We are at the vet 3 times a month...they are our BF!! The best thing is that FH did not want a puppy for this exact reason and now it is always 'I told you so' and it causes so many arguments. Also, he is not the most well-behaved dog...but he is finally starting to calm down. Despite all of this I wouldn't trade him for the world!

that is horrible!!! i could not imagine taking my dog to the vet that often! i hope he gets better!

we just found out my dog has food and environmental allergies we have her on special food - venesine (since its just about the only meat she is not allergic too) she is also on alergy meds. we stared the new food and meds about amonth ago and she seems to be doing much better

Aww I'm sorry. My dog was sooo sick as a puppy. I don't even know how much I spent on vet bills. She's been fine for the past year a half thankfully, although she just had an absessed scent gland last month. I know how much it s ucks to have a sick dog. I hope your baby is ok

awwww I'm so sorry about your doggie.....my dog has been gone for 7 years now, he always had tumors growing and the last tumor he had turned out to be cancerous I still think about him all the time, having a sick pet is very hard. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this, I will def. pray for your dog....I hope he gets better very soon

Awww I hope he's okay...poor baby!
I know how it feels. My dog was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and she's had different surgeries and then chemo. It's really helped her but while she was going through it it was so hard. The worst part is you don't really know when they're in pain because they can't tell you.
Hopefully the doctor will be able to fix him up tomorrow! I'll be praying for him.

ohh noo that poor little pup. My pup is like my little son and I would be so upset too. Hopefully everything will get under control and he will be doing much better.....maybe try a different vet and get another opinion?

i hope everything goes well and its not a tumor. its so hard with dogs because they cant say hey mom my tummy hurts we have to just guess. i hope he feels better soon
