what about stuff from Bring in da noise bring in da funk??

---

I would (my favorite show EVER) but I don't want all the taps in the background and the 'panhandler' song is too short.

This is a tough one....

Check out some songs from Brooklyn the Musical!

chasing the whos - Dr. Suess (maybe you can add something to it) song

if you can mix music the i thin that is def what youa re going to have to do. put some upbeat-ness into these songs..

like something from mary poppins might be good to do that with or hairspray, leagally blonde,

On playbill.com now trying to be helpful!

I think there's something rappy like in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee...

I need some broadway/off broadway hip hop songs (mixes will do) does anyone know of any?

ETA: So far I'm using Stomp, Steel City and possibly Newsies.

---

Trashin The Camp from Tarzan the Musical
Ease on Down the Road from The Wiz (not really hip-hop but funky)
The Rap or Firing Of Jimmy from Dreamgirls

Funny you both say that because my fellow teacher is using that for the hip hop dance I'm in....love it

I just realized that Broadway themes show no love to hip hop

Thanks ladies...Now I'll be singing this alllllll day!!!

love it!!

melissa - what program do you use to mix music? ive been looking for something to help out FMIL. did you pay for it or was it free online?

thanks!

I paid for the program it's called MixMeister but you can download a free trial online to check it out. I have MixMeister studio and love it. I don't think you need anything higher than that, that version has lots of great features. I mixed and cut all my recital music using that and they came out perfect!

ETA: Don't go by the prices on their website I bought mine on sale at Comp USA.

Rent has 'Today For You' that has a nice beat
'Trashing the Camp' from Tarzan has good rhythm
In The Heights is a Broadwa bound musical thhat has 'In The Heights' a very hip hop number.
I don't think they've released a cast album yet as they are rewriting a lot of the music for Broadway.
I have sampler CDs at work and i could send you one if you want.

I love the fact that today is Broadway day on LIW.
This is so work-related.

Could you really

And Legally Bolnde has 'Keep It Positive' which you can put a great beat under. I just like the song.

Lion King has some great numbers with African drumming.

Good Luck and thanks for the work break.
I needed that!
