I took it the other night bc I felt a little sick... everything was fine besides the weird dreams... took it again last night bc I havent been sleeping well and really needed a deeper sleep (not to mention I'm feeling under the weather) and had the strangest thing happen to me... hallucinations (auditory, visual, and feeling things move that I know could possibly be moving)
I was in such a fog that I went right back to sleep but it was the weirdest thing... Has this happened to any of you?

Strange things happen to me when I take Nyquil. Although I get to sleep it's not very restful. I have strange dreams. FH told me once after a night I took Nyquil that I was really restless in my sleep and was talking in my sleep too, making no sense at all

The dextromethorphan in the Nyquil (used as the cough suppressant) can cause hallucinations. There are people that will drink Robitussin DM (or any other meds that contain the dextromethorphan in order to induce hallucinations. Be careful - and hope you are feeling better
thank you and thanks to all you girls for your input... i def wont be using that stuff anymore... i def caught a bit of a cold so im gonna run out and get something less harsh to take i think its my first cold of the season so i guess i did pretty good missing all the others going around lol

my FH made me take Nyquil once when we first moved in together. FH & FMIL sware by it. i ended up having hot flashes all night & my heart was racing like crazy.
this week FH & I have had the flu. my sleep was completely messed up from not working & just lying around so on wednesday night FH forced me to take the nyquil. i had the best night sleep ever. last night i layed in bed coughing for an hour & once again FH forced me to take the nyquil & i couldn't sleep & was having hot flashes & my heart was racing again. very strange if you ask me.

I love nyquil when Im sick or cant sleep. I took it for the last 5 days bec I was sick as well and it just knocks me out and I get the craziest dreams and multiple dreams as well. But it never makes me sick, edited to say , it never made me hallucinate or get hot flashes

One time (at band camp. . .no, not at band camp, lol!), I took two Dayquil caplets. . .then 90 minutes later, I took one more because I still didn't feel like I was cleared up. Let's just say that I felt drunk off of my *** for a good two hours after that.
Dayquil is some serious stuff.

I have been taking nyquil when needed for the last 10 years with no problems. However, the last few times I have taken it it has made me hallucinate and have terrifying and weird dreams. Last time I took it, instead of taking the recommended 2 pills I just took one and the hallucinations and weird dreams didn't seem to happen.

I haven't taken Nyquil in awhile but I never slept soundly....I always had bad dreams or just never felt rested....it def. knocked my a s s out but it wasn't a good feeling

Never had that problem from Nyquil but have from really high fevers. However Nyquil cough suppressant makes me cough twice as much as I do without it.

I had really bad reactions to liquid NyQuil. If I take the pills it doesn't happen, but with the liquid I talk jibberish in my sleep, sometimes I sleep walk (I actually hit DH in my sleep once), I lose track of time if I'm awake (things seem like they're happening way fast), and I feel so drugged up. It's really weird. If I have to take it at all I take half the adult dose and then it doesn't happen. Or I just make DH buy the pills instead,
