I just found out a few hrs ago that an ex-boyfriend passed away. I cant get any details...no clue how it happened. My friend saw someone post about the death on facebook, but no details. I ended up calling the local funeral home just to see if it was true...and it is. I feel so bad. I cut him off as a friend when I started dating FH...because he told me he didnt want to see me happy with someone else. I was one of the few friends he had left after a bad accident. I'm feeling guilty now.

you cant dwell on it...im sorry that you lost someone you were close with before, but you cant let it bother you... the reason you cut him off was because of what he said, not anything that was your fault

Like the other girls said, you can't feel guilty about this. Its rare that someone stays friends with an ex after they are in a relationship with someone else.

people come and go in your life, it is just the way it is. there are only those few who become a permanent part of your life that are not family. don't dwell on it.... it is sad, and you can mourn the loss of someone who you were once close with, but the tragic event should not make you regret anything!

Like others said, people drift apart. Some friends were only meant to be in your life for that period of time. Just think about all the friends you've had during the course of your life. Please don't dwell on it.

Please do not feel guilty about this. Unfortunately people just drift apart, it's a way of life. Just know that it is okay to grieve and fell sad, but please do not feel guilty about this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your ex-boyfriends family.
