NWR - Baseboard Heating

NWR - Baseboard Heating

I know I said something about this before...but I am still not used to the creaking from these darn things. They are so loud and wake me up every morning.

Is there ANY way to stop this from happening or am I doomed to wake up 45 min before my alarm every day for the rest of the time I live here??

oh goooooood i totally hear you......

my old house was hot air/HVAC (its where the hot air comes from the same vents the central air comes out of) and you couldn't hear a thing. Now, we have those baseboard things and they always make those cricket sounds....so fkn annoying.....I guess its the water passing through the pipes getting heated up? (i think thats how they work).....BUT there is nothing you can do, per my dad.

nope there is nothing you can do.....its the water running though the pipes....if you dont hear it then its probably not working so hearing it is a good thing.

we don't mind the creaking but we have a major issue with the awful sound that the pump has been making. its horrible. it sounds like you are in a mechanic station. the worst part is that the boiler room is right next to our bedroom so the noise constantly wakes us up.

my dad is suppose to be fixing it this weekend. we shall see how that goes.

I didnt read ur before post

But is the baseboard cast iron (thick metal) or is it a cheap white metal?

usually the cast iron ones get air in them..so u have to bleed the system to get the air out.. the air causes the pipes to bang when the heat comes up..

The other ones should have an air valve either in the end of it or inside the case..which you can release the air...

I've been working for a plumber for 18 years..... and here u thought i was just a pretty face..

We get the same with our radiators... I would rather baseboard it heats the room better....
