Re: NWR- Bay Ridge Restaurants

Austin's Steakhouse (5th Ave and 89th st) has the best steaks, but its a little pricey. The Pearl Room (3rd Ave and 82nd st) had good food (a lot of seafood), but kind of an older crowd.

I know these aren't American/Steak, but try Elia (3rd Ave and 86th St)...it's an amazing Greek restaurant. Polonica (3rd Ave. and 72nd) is a little hole in the wall place with really good Polish food. And Maison du CousCous (5th Ave. and 77th St) has great Moroccan food. Also Tanoreen (3rd Ave and 77th) has amazing Middle Eastern food.

Sorry, I know you asked for American/Steak places, but I don't know too many of those. Those are my recommendations for places in Bay Ridge in general though.

HTH!

Ember's on 3rd and 95th (maybe 96th) st is a really good place for steak.

the greenhouse cafe on 3rd and 76th/77th may fit the bill also. i haven't eaten there, but i used to eat at the cappuchino cafe all the time, which is part of greenhouse cafe.

if you want something casual, there's always the old standby, circles on 3rd and 90th.

O'Sullivans bar & Grill on 89th and 3rd ave has pretty good food (steak/chicken/american type of food) The bar is in the front and restaurant part is in the back (its simple, pretty small and sometimes the service is slow....but the food def makes up for it! Prices arent bad either) Ive been there tons of times for mothers day and what not and its always been good.

Chadwicks ( a block away on 88th street) is also good. I havent eaten there in awhile but my dad just went there for a retirement dinner and said it was great. The place is nice and they def have steaks and other kinds of food. Heres the link to their website...

Pearl Room is def really nice and has more italian/seafood type food and the food is really good. One of my favorite restaurants is Casa Pepe (114 Bay Ridge Ave) which is Spanish/Mexican food. I know thats not what your looking for but I just thought I'd mention it! HTH!

All of the above and I had dinner at the Greenhouse Cafe recently and it was very good. Greenhouse has entertainment on Saturday evenings.
Haven't been to Embers in a while but the last time we were there we walked out because there is always a very long wait for a table even if you have a reservation.
Chadwicks is excellent w/a very nice atmosphere.
Pearl Room - always good.
Austin's is good too and they have great burgers.
If you like ethnic food then try the Schnitzel Haus on 5th Ave and 74 Street - they have German Food.
Casa Pepe for Spanish on Bay Ridge Ave- yes Spanish but they do have steaks too.
Go to any of these and enjoy.

The Pearl Room or Greenhouse Cafe. I love the Greenhouse cafe, a lot of food to choose from.

i would second Embers but I think it's closed for the month of July or something.

The greenhouse cafe is okay

Circles is SUPER casual and very small. I go there quite a bit

I'm not sure how it is but Trace? It's on 89th and 3rd and is always packed. You could also try Cebu on 88th and 3rd. They are pretty good.

Totally forgot about Chadwicks! it's on 89th and 3rd as well. Very nice!

O'Sullivans might seem like nothing to look b/c of the locals at the bar but the food is pretty good!

Definitely Chadwick's, Pearl Room, Austin's and Hunter's Steak house. It's not typical American fare, but Gino's on 75th Street and Fifth Avenue has really good seafood and a great steak on their menu.
