NWR BIRTH CONTROL

ok so i have been taking yasmin on and off for about 6 yrs, so i get married and switch ins to husband bc his insurance is 100 times better for everything except 1 think my birth control so know i am expected to pay $60.00 for it, which is crazy so i called my obgyn and she suggested i try SPRINTEC and she would call it in for me, is anyone on this.

do you have any problems

Re: NWR BIRTH CONTROL

If sprintec is just the generic version for Yaz (which I'm assuming it is) then there shouldn't be any change. I had to start taking the generic of my pills too cause they got too expensive and there was no difference.

Re: NWR BIRTH CONTROL

one question....

are you on the pill for actual birth control or for controlling cysts?

I was on it for cysts and because of that - i used to have to get a note from my OB, but the pills that were SUPPOSED to cost me 60 - were just a copay....(10).

i am on the pill so i dont get pregnant, not for cysts

also its not a generic for yasmin. Yasmin is one of the few bc that dont have a generic for it

so i am assuming you are still on yasmin, did you change from sprintec to yasmin for any reason

see my problem is that i am trying to loss weight, i am on the chucky side and i know one of the side effects is weigh gain, and that freaks me out

then maybe you'll be ok. I took the generic form of ortho tri-cyclen for years (actually up until just 2 weeks ago) and I don't think it made me gain weight....of course everyone reacts to each pil differently, but maybe you'll be ok with weight gain since you hadn't gained weight from the other pill...?

Re: NWR BIRTH CONTROL

Just wanted to clarify that YAZ and YASMIN are two different pills. Same company, but work differently. Personally, I never gained weight on YASMIN and was able to lose weight just fine. However, on YAZ, I'm stuck, no considerable weight gain, but I just can't lose any! So,as soon as I'm done with my YAz in like 5 days, I'm going back to YASMIN.

YAZ is really for people with PCOS and cyst issues..
