not really going to find a 'nice' cuban plan...there is a new Colombian on 5ht Ave (Bogota) but I haven't been there so I don't know how the food is.
other than that, I can't help you.
there is a Spanish restaurant on Atlantic (by LIC Hospital) but they've changed their name...haven't been there since the change.
italian is good (Tonio's on 7th) Mulino on 5th
french on 5th Belleville, Cocotte
I really love the Park Slope Brewery on 6th & 5th. it's a cool bar/grill. we go there a lot.

A little further than park slope - but in the same area - Ellora's - it's on Prospect Park S. and 17th! Traditional Cuban food...
Then, further down in Bklyn Heights - Alma - it's on like Hamilton Avenue and DeGraw...actually..it's right across from the Piers...it's more 'fusion'

Bogota's delicious and the mojitos are yummy (they have different flavors). Another Latin resturant on 5th ave in park slope is Coco Roco. It's pretty good too (i was there yesterday!). Smith street in downstown brooklyn has alot of good resturants too. They have a peruvian resturant (forgot the name) and there is also a Cuban resturant on smith street called Cuban Cafe (i think that's what it's called). The food is also very tasty.
