I posted this in the bridezilla topic but does anyone else without an iO box having a problem where cablevision decided to block a bunch of the higher channels (like E, TLC, A&E, Travel channel, Animal Planet and some others..) It just says ' an iO box is now required to view these channels. I am SOOOO freakin pissed off, most of the channels I tivo are not working.. . They said they wasnt happening until Feb 09...

Re: NWR: Cablevision?
Maybe they changed the basic package? As far as Feb 09 that just means that if you 1)Don't have a digital tv or 2)Use rabbit ears, then you will need to get a digital conversion box or upgrade to a digital cable box package.

Re: NWR: Cablevision?
Anyone that has cablevision should have gotten a letter. Or at least I did. It said that those channels, while still in my package, would not be able to be viewed after June 6 without a box. I have a box in my living room but not in my bedroom. As it is now, I can't watch things like Discovery Home in my bedroom but I can watch them in the living room. We decided not to have a box in the bedroom originally because the channels I watch at night - food, animal planet, tlc, hgtv - are viewable without it. But now that they are moving some of them, I think I need the box.... extra $5 a month, I might try to live without it for a while and see how I deal :)

I know. With gas prices the way they are , $5 is ... well, an extra drink at a bar, and who doesn't need that with all the stress we have over money, weddings, etc????
