i am so miserable with my job. This will be my 5th year teaching. I loved it my first 3 years when I taught math. Then I switched schools and started teaching English (what I thought I always wanted to teach) and I HATE it. Im teaching summer school math now and it's been difficult. I think I'm just burnt. I dont know if it's the school or just not for me anymore. It sucks because it's good pay, great benefits, and a great schedule especially when we have kids...but that is not a reason to stay. im miserable.
i am literally getting anxiety over thinking about returning here in September.
I've been thinking of maybe going back to school for something else..something in the medical field maybe. I just know FH and I want to start having babies soon and I feel like going to school will slow everything done...i dont know.
I would even just do office work at this point. I just want something with benefits since FH doesn't have them. I just feel so lost and it's so depressing.
any advice??

You said you are a city teacher so you do think it would help if you taught somewhere more suburban with a better classroom environment? Have you tried finding work at catholic or private schools?

As previous poster mentioned, really try to figure out what you like about and also think about what made the first 3 years good. Also make sure that the weddingness of it all is not warping your judgment
If it is teaching in school setting, perhaps teaching in other ways? We could totallllly use more smart teachers in healthcare . Or even train adults through hr work etch.
Whatever you decide your teaching degree would neverrrrr go to waste as the skills are transferable and help you market yourself.

Send me an FM. I left medical school after one year and am SO HAPPY that I did. I will now be getting a Masters degree in real estate from Georgetown. I couldn't be happier with my decision. Feel free to chat with me.

I think you need to do what you love. If you keep returning to the idea of going back to school, that's what you need to do.
