NWR - Christening question...

Hi all-
I am going to a christening tomorrow and was wondering how much money is appropriate (or shall I say 'enough') for a good friend. I don't have a lot to give, but I don't want to look 'cheap' either. Thanks in advance...

We have one too and we are giving a savings bond. What's kind of cool about them is that a $100 savings bond costs $50. Which I think is a generous gift for a baby. (IMO)

I have a christening tomorrow to go to also! I usually do 40-50 dollars. For myself, any future christenings I will have will just be godparents and grandparents at a nice lunch or something. I always feel bad about inviting 75 people to attend things and they feel like they need to bring a substantial gift, cause let's face it, unless I'm invited to something like that, I'll just buy a $25.00 new-baby gift. Plus, I think religious events should be small and personal. I guess a wedding is the exception to that rule!!
