How many of us get a Christmas Bonus??

I'm always jealous of people who get this!!! I NEVER get an end of year bonus!!

Wait I'm lying... I get either a Ham or a Turkey!!! I get to pick which one I want and I get an oscar mayer ham or turkey (like the big cold cut kind.... just not sliced... so I never know what to do with it). I'm not a ham person... not like that anyway... and turkey is ehh... so I donate it to the homeless shelter that FH parents run. I think they actually stopped this though... I don't recall getting the ham or turkey last year. I guess now we get nada!!!

DH always got a bonus until last year. Its bad when you count on a bonus you have gotten every year for 5 years and then suddenly you don't get one.

I got my year-end bonus for 2007 in early 2008, as usual. My year-end bonus for 2008 should have come in early 2009 but instead they had to freeze salaries and no one really got anything. Then this year we had a salary reduction by 10%, so I am guessing that there will be no year-end bonus at all!

Thats what happened to DH too. No bonus last year, salary cut instead of yearly review and annual raise this year. We bought our house last Oct counting on his upcoming raise, instead he got a salary cut. We are struggling.

I guess I am lucky. Get one every year the amount can vary though.

I used to get a bonus but that was before our company merged with a bigger one. And they don't do bonus' from as much as I know.

Plus with our raises being cut, and people being fired, even if they did do bonus' in the past, I doubt we would get any this year.

I am greatful to at least have my job.

i did at my old job, it was a little less than one weeks pay...

this year i will too, i just don't know how much. i only have been at this job since july, so im sure it wont be much.

not only do I get no bonus but we have had salary freeze for two years. .and 1% year before. . well at least I haven't been cut. .

We don't get bonuses. Never did as far as I know. This year they cut all our client events, our company summer 'fun' day and our christmas party.

They also seem to think that paying us our commission on time is optional. The last year, I haven't gotten my EARNED dollars on time once. We get paid supposedly 6 weeks after the quarters books close and the last year its been 8 weeks after, and this next one in Nov will be 9 weeks after.

We are also up for sale and laid off ALOT of people this year...so again--grateful and lucky, as long as the checks keep clearing.

The last 5 years I have been lucky enough to get very generous bonuses (I also worked so many hours that I really earned them). This year I expect nothing - it has been slow and we have had two rounds of layoffs. Most days I just feel lucky to be employed in this environment.

My FH lost his job in Sept. and has yet to find anything - he is in a creative indusrty (production) and it's very hard. Thank god I am working and we are able to live off of what I make without dipping into savings - boy would a December bonus mean more than ever right now though!
