OK, My FSIL is away at college for the first time. I want to make her up a care package and I'm looking for some fun and unique ideas that are inexpensive!

What I was going to do for my FBIL (if he had decided to give dorm life more than 1 day before moving back home) was send a care package of all travel-sized snacks and those mini bottles of liquor that they have at liquor stores.

Thats so sweet of you!! I'll be doing something similar for my little sister next year..
I would include things like packs of gum, maybe a pic of her family in a frame, a calling card (although she prob has a cell phone..calling cards were so helpful when i went away!!) hmm what else...laundry detergent, a little box of quarters maybe?? Always need quarters for the machines, lol. A dry erase board would be a cool idea too..
When i left i remember my aunt got me a hot pot..i used it all the time to heat up soup..you could get her one of those with a big mug..
just some ideas!! :)

My grandma made me a blanket - that was the sweetest thing. Maybe fuzzy slippers or a throw blanket, phone cards, gas card, gift card to target or something, mcdonald bucks, M&Ms!!!! Im sure ANYTHING would be appreciated! When I got a letter I was touched. Its very sweet of you!

a stuffed animal if she likes them... I had one on my bed all four years that my Mom gave to me freshman year. Homemade brownies or cookies were also fun to get in the mail. Any snacks... gift card to a grocery store...

Quarters for laundry is a good idea -- but if you do this, find out first if the machines use quarters at her school. I know a lot of them have shifted to those electronic cards.

gift cars to stores that are in her area, esp for grocery or like taregt/walmart type places!! She will need toothpaste at some point... but she can also buy 'non-necessity' type things if she needs!

I loved just getting mail! Gift cards are great...as is a funny card. Oh and magazines like Cosmo or Glamour - she'll need a break from all those hours of studying.
