nwr: computers

anyone know about computers? my husbands computer crashed and can not be restored (it was a million years old anyway). He doesnt want to spend money on a new one but I think its worth it. Anyone know a cheap but good computer? He uses it minimally....mainly to do his fantasy sports online but he does do the occasional spreadsheet (so i dont think a netbook would cut it).
Would like to spend around $250...is this possible??? we would do desktop (dont need monitor) or laptop

My FH is a Computer Tech. He suggests getting a new computer because it will be cheaper than restoring the old one. He suggests dell.com. They usually have deals on computers. He only suggest Dell computers for all his business clients because if they do crash, they are easier to fix than an HP for example.

maybe look here?

We have never had anything but issues with Dell laptops

We have, however, fallen in love with Toshiba laptops

we have a toshiba laptop and it works great! FH is a nerd when it comes to computers so we have all the extras on there with little to no cost.

my advice - spend as little as you can on a computer, bc they go in a couple of years. I bought an HP for 250 from bestbuy. Check their circular.

HP
Lenovo
Dell
Toshiba

are all basically the same

Also...Best Buy price matches to other brick and mortar stores as well as Amazon

My FH is a programmer and would absolutely suggest newegg.com. He says they have great deals on that site. Good Luck!
