NWR: Costco Shockers!!!

I went to have dinner with my friends last night and this is what I found out! Since he's the supervisor of Costco in Garden City area, he was telling me about all the returns that goes on in Costco. So, supposedly, if you keep your receipts, you can return items from Costco from years and years before. He had customers return camcorders that was purchased 5 years ago, mattresses, furniture and even dairy products. He has had customers return a quater gallon of milk left for refund of one quarter of the cost. People bought cake and return the cake with only 1 slice left, claiming the cake was not good!!!
Am I the only one who apparently didn't know this about Costco's return policy? It kind of makes me nervous about purchasing items from there!!!

I am sure that the stuff that gets returned doesn't go back on the shelf. They probably just go back to the manufacturer and the food gets thrown out. There are a lot of stores that will take returns/exchanges like that. Last winter I was at Brooks Brothers and this guy exchanged his beat up cashmere sweater that was like 3 years old for a brand new one.

my FMIL bought curtains from target for a sliding glass door, long panels, when she got home and opened one pkg. was fine the other one had a childs beat up red sweatshirt shoved in the bag. and target took that back from someone else!!

My sister just told me they do flower arrangements for weddings now and they're gorgeous. The only thing is, you have to pick it up yourself.

Well you can get all your flowers, than return it after the wedding and get your money back.

Okay!!!! Maybe I should order my e-party cake from there and then bring a couple of slices back and say it was disgusting

thats gross about victoria secret.

but otherwise i think its good customer policy to take things back that people arent satisfied with. just dont put it back out on the shelf!! gross

i remember my FH saying he used to want to return his printer so that he didn't have to buy new ink and get a new printer. of course he never did it but i'm sure many have thought the same thing.

I didn't know that but I'm not surprised. The news did a story on Victoria's Secret and how they accepted returns on underware and bras, then just put them back on the rack! So now I buy all my underware online (it comes in sealed plastic bags with the strip on the crotch). Alot of stores have these policies you just got to read the recipets.

yes i heard this about victoria's secret as well.. from the news and i have friends who used to work there. so ladies, be careful about trying on stuff and buying it from victoria secrets..
this is too gross with costco as well.. yuck!
