I LOVE Essie and OPI dark polishes... especially Lincoln Park at Dark I'm excited that it's time to start using these colors again, but am NOT happy with the chip factor. It stands out so much more than with the colors I use in the summer.
Anyone have any good tips to get my polish to last a couple of days longer? It's annoying to have to fix them every couple of days.
Here's my current routine (about every 10 days or so):
Cuticle remover. Cut cuticles. File and buff nails. Wash hands. Nail polish remover to remove oils. Nailtique as a base for my crappy peely, thin nails. 2 coats of color, clear top coat (not quick drying)
I'll repeat the painting steps during the week if necessary (and is usually necessary after 2-3 days)
Am I doing osmething wrong or am I just doomed to have chipped nails all winter?

Re: NWR: Dark nail polish
OMG I love the dark polish too!! My nails are a little longer so I paint the underside just slightly, running the brush over the flat part of the nail, its supposed to make more of a wrap around so its supposed to chip less. Could be complete crap, but give it a try...let me know how it goes!!

Re: NWR: Dark nail polish
I've heard that but my nails are super short... when they grow a little, I try to do that but it doesn't seem to help me much.
GAAAAH, lol, and I find the polish lasts even LESS when I go to get them done as opposed to when I do them myself.
I think it's just gonna be a nother winter of constant repainting.

apply a clear top coat nightly. that way the top coat chips away but not the color.

Use Essie 3 way Glaze, it keeps the nail poilsh from cipping and makes them super shiny! I apply every other day...takes a while for nails to dry initially though
