NWR: Dentist recommendation
I know, this is not a wedding related question but all of you seem to have great advice so I figured I could ask this question. Does anyone have a great dentist who is not heavy handed and has great bedside manner for someone who is not a great dental patient. Thanks for the recommendations in advance.

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
I am terrified of the dentist. In fact, terror is not a strong enough word.I have been to several dentists and have never found one who I liked.
After many months of searching, I found a dentist who specializes in sedation dentitry. They put me to sleep! Hooray!!
I went for a consultation with him 2 weeks ago and he seemed like a nice enough guy. (www.drkampel.com)
Im going 9/17 for cavity fillings and teeth whitening. Ill let you know how it goes.

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
Where are you looking? I have a great dentist but they only have offices in Mt. Sinai and Medford. They are actually three brothers (all great). Their names are Dr. Kahn.

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
I live in New York City but my Fh and family are on long island so I can go anywhere if it is the right dentist.SonicStef I completely understand I hate the dentist too but I am not sure I would let someone put me asleep that scares me too lol.
I am going to look up the doctors you gave me though.

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
I am so bad at the dentist. When I was younger, I actually used to hit him if he hurt me. But I have found a wonderful dentist in Levittown. He gives me the sweetair for cleanings and sweetair and novicefor anything else. He is very gentle and has a great manner with patients like me (big babies). His # is 516-731-4300.

abc: I am so afraid of the dentist that I don't care if he feels me up while hes working on me - I just don't want to be conscious for any of it! :DIn my case, it is a full blown phobia and the only way I will go!

I think my dentisr is awesome -- it's Dr. Boutis. He's part of the Fleisher Dental Group in Bellmore. He also takes most major insurance.

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
My dentist is located in Jericho. (Only problem is I don't know if they're taking any new patients.)My original dentist, Dr. Mascola, was the president of the ADA, but he's retired and now Dr. Pagano has the practice (Dr. Pagano worked under Mascola for a number of years). If you're interested, the number is 516-931-3360.
BTW...Dr. Pagano has been great (soft touch and he's really sweet) and the dental hygenist is top notch too.

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
Jenny, is that Raymond Mascola? I hope not because that is the person who gave me this fear of dentists in the first place!!!

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
Hi, if you're stll looking I go to Dr. David Katz or Dr. Jodi Halper. They're located at 110-55 72nd Road Suite 1L (Between Queens Blvd and 112 Street) in Forest Hills.I started going to them last year. My mom's whole office goes to them. I've gotten many root canals with them (becuse my last dentist really screwed up my teeth) and they are REALLY gentle. The first time I met the dentist was an emergency appointment because I was in so much pain. He took me right away and fixed the problem. He's a really nice guy and so is Jodi. They're both equally great! And so is their staff. Good Luck!!

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
I found the best dentist EVER in Manhattan. I had to have a few cavities filled and he did everything so quickly yet efficiently, I didn't feel a thing (except the novacaine of course) and I was in and out on my lunch hour. I thought he was just getting started, when he told me I was finished! He's in Chelsea on 8th Ave, Eight Avenue Dental Associates, Dr. Kevin Lehman, 212-243-3989.

Re: NWR: Dentist recommendation
I love my dentist. He is Dr Gene Butera and located in Garden City on 7th St (off Franklin) -it's the buidling next to the AAA building. He is great. I was recommended by a friend who had such a fear and would only go to him. I've been going to him for over 10 years. Ps..it's the son, the dad doesn't take any new patients-I think
