NWR- Did anyone else have to PAY EXTRA $$$ for their taxes?
I file just like everyone else who is 01 single in my profession. Yet I have to pay out over a thousand dollars now - totally dipping into my wedding savings.
Is it my CPA or what??? :( FH is getting BACK over $2000 and he files like me.

Because I'm a NYS employee (teacher) I always have to pay to offset my pension contributions (about $150. this year). At least, hopefully, my NYS pension will be there in the end so it's not so I don't mind that much. If I was in another profession w/o a pension I wouldn't be happy.

i claim 01 as well and i owed the state about $34.00 and got back over $1800.00 from federal.

My FH is also a NYS teacher and he's getting back $$ but i guess that's because he was in school finishing up his masters, we'll have to wait and see what happens next year.

I had to pay out over $400 to the Federal Criminals and over $700 to the criminals up in Albany. And believe me, I don't make that much! Double taxation is tyrany!

I file single 0 which is supposed mean the most taxes are taken out of my paycheck but I still owed over $500!!! I was not expecting that.

I'm a NYS employee also and I always get money back. And I claim 2 during the year. DH claims zero so he gets back alot more than me but I've never owed.

this is ridiculous. I get raped every other week on my paycheck...is it my accountant ? my tax bracket?
My account says I'm not eligible for an 'itemized' list...
My FH & I have the same profession make pretty much the same money and he's getting back over two thousand and I'm paying over a THOUSAND dollars....
Should I see a different accountant?

I don't have a house or anything, but still file an itemized return. My account writes off alot of things for me (church, travel to 2nd job, etc.)

I claim single 0 and got back $1,500. Trust me it's not a lot compared to how much they took from me. I feel like I could have gotten more. My FH made the same amount of money than me last year and somehow got back $4,500. I think his accountant is crooked!! I will use his accountant this year.

I'm getting money back TG!!! FH has to pay though... but not as much as LY! Whoo hoo!!! I also, and I know people don't agree, but I claim 0 and put in an extra $5 per paycheck to State & Federal...I can't stand owing them. AND I know I would spend it if I had it throughout the year
