NWR - Dilemma!!!!

Original post by Snowflake08

Most of you know I am an AP - I have been for 5 years (this is my 5th)

so today, my principal called me into her office and said that the superintendent wants to recommend me for the Aspiring Principal's Program!!

OK - I know it sounds great! I was FLOORED!
Here is my dilemma
I never thought about being a principal - not at this point in my life (before kids) It is SOOO time consuming and SOO much more responsibility than I already have

I feel like it is a GREAT opportunity for me and I dont want to tell the superintendent no for fear of NOT being considered in the future.

Any Advice??
FH said to GO FOR IT!! I love being in my building and the thought of NOT being there in September scares the HELLL out of me

Congrats Laura! That is a huge compliment and excellent opportunity.

Question does it 'force' you into a Principal position for Sept?

My suggestion would be go for it. And after you are pregnant then voice your concerns to your principal and SI. you have a job you love to 'fall back on' but something to work towards too -- best of both worlds.

Only you can decide what is good for yourself but since you're asking for everyone's opinion, I say go for it! I am in the education field myself and I say take any opportunity you can to get ahead. You are so lucky to be in that position!

Do it! Opportunites like this do NOT come around often. I think you'd regret it if you turned it down.
