I always book off Expedia.com I find them to be great!
I know that all airline tickets go on sale in July. We booked our HM with Liberty Travel and they are booking our airline tickets then during the sale. It will be saving us nearly 100$ they predict.

I'm so surprised. I've used them many times. One time we had to cancel and they were cool about refunding back everything except $75.

depending on where you go, go to airline site direct... i went to vegas last month and nobody offered me a better rate then an airline direct...

i always use expedia, hubby uses orbitz. after you check on those sites and find some prices you like, go directly to the airline website. most likely they'll have them listed on there as well. it's always better to buy directly from the airline if it's the same price.

I fly a couple times a year (first back and forth to NY, and planning the two parts of our honeymoon) I almost always find (maybe once or twice not the case) but almost ALWAYS find that the cheapest rates are directly online thru the individual websites (also know that rates go up as the week goes on - there is 1 day a week when they reset their rates and then it starts to rise again -if you have some time watch the rates go once a day and check- I believe the drop day is tues or wed. around midnight.)

I go to expedia to get an idea of what rates generally are then go to the individual sites and play around - I find for example spirit is say $10 more at these sites than at their own sight -

I also use Priceline all the time. You have to be very, very flexible and understand the terms - NO CANCELLATIONS, ANY TIME BETWEEN 6AM and 10PM on the date you book. They're very strict with that.

but I've saved a TON of money.

They're best for when you're really desperate though - all the flights are way too much but you HAVE to get there.

Priceline beats Hotwire pricewise. Almost ALL the time. Hotwire often gives me the same price as Travelocity.

I use them for Hotels much more than anything else, and they're amazing for that. AMAZING.

Go to www.biddingfortravel.com - people post prices they've gotten and you can get a strategy.

Other than that, www.sidestep.com and the airline's website directly. Orbitz, but I've found that they put up prices that they DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO, so that when you go to book it it's gone and the price is the same as all the other sites.

My favorite travel site is www.travelzoo.com. We usually book packages, not just airfare, but check it out, you may get lucky.

If you go to www.qixo.com, it runs your intinerary through just about every airlines at once. They have a booking fee if you go through them, but you can just take the flight info and book directly with the airline that way.

Good luck.

P.S.: I second travel zoo for packages. And if you are looking for great deals to Europe, it's all about go-today.com in my book...

The problem with priceline that i had was i went online to order tickets for myself and fiance fine... put in the dates etc.... then once i entered everything in and was waiting for the acceptance the page went down and it send to re-do fine i did put in all the information again and everything same exact way i did the first time when it crashed onces i got home to check for the second time if i got it they had me down twice for the same flight same time and same people and charged me for both flight and everything I had it out with priceline I got my attorney involved my brother and everything and it took me 3 months to finally get my money back and they still charged me a service charge for both of those tickets of $75.00 each!! I even said to them why would i booked the same flight for the same people for the same dates twice!! So just be careful if ur going to use them!!

I use expedia.com, orbitz.com, travelocity.com and I go to the individual airlines to see what they have. I booked a flight for my brother two days ago and American Airlines actually had the same ticket for about $10 less. Its not that much, but I've seen even better deals searching like that. Good luck!
