NWR-Does FH buy groceries?

NWR-Does FH buy groceries?

I think my FH just assumes I will always get the groceries?? I’m not saying he never buys groceries; but I go to the store about 5X more than he does. Only if he’s out and has something on his mind that he wants to buy will he go to the store!

I’m saying this because I didn’t do any grocery shopping this week; and he hasn’t said anything or even made the effort to go buy something! LOL! Since I didn’t make it to the store; we ran out of juice/soda which I usually try to keep in the house but he’s just been drinking water instead!

I went to the Douglaston Manor show last night-I come home almost 10pm and he’s moaning about how he’s starving…he had been home for 1 ½ + hours before me. He could have picked up something to eat on the way home!! Instead he makes an English muffin!!! I couldn’t believe him!!

If I’m home & hungry-I go to the store and buy food to make for the both of us. He’ll cook on occasion if there things in the house already; but he rarely goes to the store during the week to actually get things to cook! Does he think the salmon magically appears in the refrigerator! And the crazy thing is that he drives his car everyday and can easily stop at the store…where as I take the express bus and would have to come all the way home; get in my car and then go to the store!

LOL! Sorry-I’m just venting a little here!! I’m not saying he doesn’t cook at all-but come on buddy-can’t you go to the supermarket?? Or is that expected for the “Woman” to take care of???

We always go grocery shopping together but I totally get you on the 'i'm so hungry!' moaning. There has been times I have been peeved because I came home late and he's been at home just starving when there is food in the fridge that CAN BE COOKED! He always butters me up saying he can't cook like me but I'm no fool! lol, he cooked for himself before I came along, he should be able to feed himself when I'm not around (and save me leftovers),

boys. they all just love being taken care of.

Never LOL. I really don't care though because I actually love to food shop. I take my time and walk down every aisle and for some reason it's just relaxing to me (unless of course there is some mega sale and it's packed and then every just ticks me off LOL).

There are a few occassion when FH will go with me (like if it's on the way home and he's with me, he'll just come along). Personally, I can't stand shopping with him. He literally starts acting like a 5 year old.... he'll kick the shopping cart, just start putting random things in the cart just to annoy me, or keep asking 'Is that it? Are we done?'... It makes me laugh but honestly, I'd rather him just not come along ... but you can bet your a$$ that he's coming downstairs to lug all that stuff up the 3 flights of stairs to our apartment LOL.

FH likes to go grocery shopping with me. I think He's gone on his own once or twice (when I was doing something). The last few weeks I have been going by myself, but if we are both free we will go together.

As far as cooking goes, he'd rather eat Beefaroni than cook ANYTHING

That's ok though, because he knows if I am working at night, I'm not cooking a gourmet meal when I get home. He's getting beefaroni anyway!

Awww sorry Grocery shopping is my job pretty much. He never goes by himself, but we have went a couple of times together.

I do the shopping though weekly. He will pick up milk/soda or little things at the deli up the block if he remembers or I ask him.

The thing is I use the car during the week and he takes the subway/bus so it makes more sense for me to shop. Plus, I get out of work earlier and and the food store is on the way home for me.

I can see your frustration with your situation. I would mention to him. Ask if he can do it once in awhile since he has the car.

I lvoe food shopping to! I take sooo long. I love thinking of what to make that day and looking at the sales and getting different ideas for meals. hahaha

And I definitely call him and make him bring the stuff up to our apt too!! I hate when he's not home yet and I have to make two trips up!

I do the grocery shopping. If he did it we would be broke because he refuses to look for sales and nothing can be store brand

FH comes with me when he's not busy studying, which recently hasn't been very often
if he's on a break from school, he'll go by himself which is so wonderful! I don't really mind going by myself, but its always a lot more fun when he comes along!
as far as cooking - ha he won't even heat up beefaroni or whatever's easy - he just orders lol

Sometimes FH does it, sometime I do it and sometimes we go together...Fh actually likes to go food shopping for some stuff so I really cant complain. I do always get stuck putting everything away though lol

ughh chores is such a frustrating topic! FH only goes food shopping if I ask him to, which is usually when we have nothing in the apartment and he wants to cook or if I forgot something. But when he goes it's usually for one or two things... if I ask him to pick anything else up he will either forget or pretty much say he's tired or doesn't feel good or has to get home blah blah blah.

I do have to say though that it's gotten much better since we first moved in together, and he will finally go WITH me when I ask him to! At first it was like pulling teeth.

FH hates anything that has to do with him walking into a store to buy things. He is the worse person to shop with its always anything else are we dont yet.

Everyone at the local grocery store knows FH by name; he's there almost every day, lol.

I usually do the food shopping or we go together. Sometime though he likes to go and get his 'chef stuff' I usually just get the basic breakfast stuff, meats, stuff like that. We like going to bjs together though!
