the little shelter in Huntington. Just there this weekend. So many cuties in need of a good home!
We adopted our dog from the New Rochelle Humane Society. They are great! They even offer a FREE 4 week dog training class. In addition they gave us a training crate, leas, collar and 5lbs of dog food. Our first vet visit was free and our dog was neutered and micro chipped.
I don't know if you are looking for a big or small dog but we have a greyhound and hes big (about 65 lbs) and absolutely love him. I was always a small dog person but Petey is a huge mush and very easy to take care of. We got him from grateful greyhounds, they rescue them from dog tracks around the country.
any local shelter, but if u have a certain dog in mind google it and put rescues in it.
Labs4rescue ( i volunteer with them) and Mutts4rescue
have you looked in North Shore Animal League? They have a lot more dogs than they put on their website. When I went there, there were hundreds!
I just adopted my puppy from Double Dog Rescue. It's the rescue organizaion that is on the show: Last Chance Highway on Animal Planet.
