NWR - Duvet Cover

What is it?

Re: NWR - Duvet Cover

A cover that goes over a down feather comforter to protect it. Like a slip cover for a comforter

ahh got you so if i put a down comforter on my registry I should put one of these?

Do you put it over the down or does it go in the duvet?

any comforter can go into a duvet ... they will either zip or button closed ....

The comforter goes in the duvet. Well most down feather comforters come standard white so if you want a design on your bed. Then yea get one you like to match your bedroom.

its kind of like a pillow case for a down comforter, although you can put any kind of comforter inside of it

think of it as a giant pillow case for your comforter...Some comforters come with a 'protective' cover on them already, others (usually the plain white ones) dont...The duvet cover also helps protect the blanket from any stains (you can throw a cover in teh washing machine, cant throw a down blanket in....)

it also gives you a lot more options.

for example, you can change up the look of your bedding -- instead of buying multiple expensive comforters you just change the duvet, and keep the inner comforter the same. also, you can do the reverse, and keep the duvet the same but switch from a light-weight to a heavy-weight comforter when the seasons change.

finally, most high-end bedding comes with duvets for these reasons

Duvet covers are the bane of my existence, because like you... I was all 'W T F is THIS?' until I was registering at Macy's last weekend and they schooled me. My bedding (duvet cover) is on my registry if you want to take a look.

I'm f*cking high if I think anyone is going to buy any of that stuff for me! It's expensive!

We got the pillows, the decorative pillows, and the shams, and the bedskirt... that stuff will last 7 seconds in my house, I know it.

my comforter set is a room in a bag and comes with all of that and is only 200 bucks - which is well worth it - someone already bought it.

it is just when you have to buy the stuff seperate it gets ridiculously expensive
