So, it would be so easy to eat healthy if I could plan every meal, and pack my lunch every day and cook every meal. When I do all that, I eat very healthy and feel great!
Sometimes I'm lazy and don't pack lunch and don't feel like cooking...fine. That's my fault.
But how frustrating is it when life gets in the way and makes it near impossible to eat healthy??
Like yesterday. Planned to come home from work and do grocery shopping, then spin class then a healthy dinner and early to bed. FH's best friend's brother got in a car accident on Sunday and we found out early yesterday so instead of coming home he met me in the city to go to the hospital to visit the family. I had a taco at penn station around 6pm and by the time we got back home to LI at 11pm we grabbed curbside at Applebees and I had mozzarella sticks. I know, not the best choice but I was starving and thats what I ordered. Then I felt bad for eating it.
Now my mom invited us to a Yankee game tomorrow. And the first thing I thought of is 'Great, another late night and more bad food!'
Sorry this turned into a mini blog, I was just wondering if anyone gets frustrated about stuff like this like I do? I guess I just need to plan better when I can and choose better when I can't plan ahead....but its easier said then done!
PS FH's friend's brother is stable, but they have him in a chemically induced coma for the next 3 days to let him heal and they won't know if he has permanent brain damage until he wakes up, so please pray he makes a full recovery!

Re: NWR: Eating Healthy/vent
I am sorry to hear about your frend's brother and I hope that everything is ok with him!
I know how you feel with the eatting. I go back and forth about being good and not being good. I think the most important thing is to be aware of it. If you are aware then you will make better choices.

I hope your friend's brother makes a speedy recovery.
I know exactly how you feel. It's exhausting to eat healthy and then so many things just keep popping up. I wish there was someone that could just give me what I was going to eat everyday.

That's why rich people are so skinny! they have personal chefs! LOL
And Mara - I think you are right about being aware. I made bad quick decisions based on how hungry I was. If I thought about it I could have made a smarter decision. Its tough!
Thanks for the support girls!

Trust me when i say i TOTALLY understand. I'm a publicist and work in music. Their are days when I'm on press for a whole day and the only food available to eat is cookies and muffins in the green room. Or, I plan on going home and eating healthy and I come into work and my boss tells us we need to go to a show that night, or were all going out for dinner somewhere. I'm allergic to raw veggies which makes life so much harder because i can just get the salad, or grab some carrot sticks on the veggie platter. Drinking at social events is also a huge part of my job which i find the hardest part of the whole weight loss process.
I have lost 10 pounds since January (30 more to go ug) and this is the stuff that has helped me so far
Weight Watchers!- This helps me make healthier choices. I'm a lot less likely to order something unhealthy when I'm out to eat if i know i only have 10 points left to the day. Also, for example the yankee game. You could plan your whole day so that you have enough points to eat a hot dog and a beer and still stay on point. I can't tell you how much i LOVE WW. I seriously don't feel like I'm on a diet at all!
on the weekends i make a few big batches of stuff and then divide it up into single servings in tupaware and stick it all in the freezer. That way i can just grab something quick when i get home from work and all i need to do is heat it up in the microwave. I also use that stuff for lunch every day. This week i made a big thing of whole wheat veggie baked zitti and enchiladas with veggies.
I also swear by spin class. I know its hard to find the time ( i struggle with that for sure) but i actually look forward to it and find myself arranging my day to make sure i can make class!
I hope this helps. Trust me i know its hard. I feel like this weight will never come off but i just try to stick with it!

Yikesss i hope he gets better!!
My sisters have the same issues when they go out and when we go out to eat on the weekends they always want to eat at certain resturants bc they have certain healthy foods. I feel like you can eat anywhere just pick healthier foods they offer, 95% of resturants have salad, grilled chix or something healthy.. its suxs yeah but what can you do
My Fh eats healthy all week (he does not need to lose weight he just does it bc he feels better) on the weekends i loveeee chinese , pizza or mcd's he ate it with me last weekend and felt so sick hes said never again its not worth it. ( i on the other hand was veryy happy )

I hope he has a quick recovery!
I really have no self control when it comes to eating. I'm a size 6 now, which I know isn't bad but I used to be a dancer, and when I was dancing I ate EVERYTHING in sight and was always a size 2.
I kind of like that i have a chest and hips now, so I don't really go too crazy, but why does all the bad food taste SO GOOD?

Re: NWR: Eating Healthy/vent
I know it is easier to order food that tasts good than the healthy stuff but once you get over the hump your body will be craving the more healthy choices. And if you have unplanned events you can go an unhealthy route for one day. Then the next day go back to your original plan.

I hope FHs friends brother is ok! and a speedy recovery!
I totally understand where you are coming from regarding food.. I know it can be really hard to make the best food choices, especially when it comes to eating out. Keep in mind for the future for Applebees, they have an under 550 cal menu and WW options! I find the more aware I am of the 'good' food choices out there, the more likely I am to take advantage of them.

Hope he recovers soon.
I totally get you!!! Healthy eating is hard ..especially when you are hungry and have to make quick choices.
I'm bad at bringing my lunch .. but working in the city and trying to eat healthy is definently hurting my pockets!!!!! The healthier I try to eat, the more expensive food is but if I buy a burger or pizza .. my lunch is soo much cheaper. SMH!

Prayers for your friend. <3
I always have to have a granola bar in my bag/car/desk... You get the idea. This helps tons! It keeps me at bay until I can eat something healthy.
