I'm planning on buying an elliptical machine soon but I'm not sure what kind to get. I love Precors but they cost alot of money. Does anyone know of any other brands that are good but not too expensive?? THANKS!

I bought a Precor. If we were going to buy one, I wanted one that will last a loooooong time. I bought it directly from the Precor store in Huntington. The guys that work there are GREAT!
I paid, if I remember correclt, $2400 for it, and they threw in the exercise mat for under the machine, dumbells, the big exercise ball and a MUCH longer contract. And I got it all for 0% interest for a year. Half of the cost was a 'housewarming' gift from my parents.
I love having it in our house, and it's a really solid machine. I compared it to the Nordictrack, and didn't see the same quality. Also, I have knee issues, and my former physical therapist said the the Precor has the best technology for knee health.

Thats why i love it too. My knees always hurt on other machines, but the precor is painless. I just wish they didn't cost so much.

I have a ProForm. They sell it on their official site and in stores but I got mine for cheaper from HSN.com, plus there was free shipping. The only pain in the a$$ is that you have to put 90% of it together yourself. It took FH and I forever.

I got a proform from Sears. They will assemble it for you for a price if it is too difficult. I was lucky enough to buy a floor model that was already assembled and we picked it up in my dad's Explorer. I paid under 50% off the $400 price of it because it was a floor model.

I just bought one and it arrives on Friday. We got it at Sears, It's NordicTrack II can give a report soon. It was on sale for $799 normally $1K.
I just bought an elipitical from ****'s Sporting Goods on friday. It was on sale from $1199 to $549. Seems like a good one. I loved the precor, but they are too expensive. Dicks is delivering and assembling it for an extra $80. I think it is still on sale, if you are interested.
