nwr: ever feel like u do something nice and get nothing in return....
i'm having a bad week.. i'm pmsing so i'm hyper sensitive to every thing... but this particular thing really REALLY irked my nerves... and well i'm not over it. so i figured i'd vent here..
i work as a teacher on LI.. my last job was with NYC>. now here on LI at my job i'm an instructional leader and have a pretty well known name around my district..back during hiring season when they posted a job for a spec ed teacher i called a friend i co-taught in an inclusion class with who was still teaching in the city.. i knew she could use the raise because she had just got married, brought a house and had a baby all in one year..
soo...... i helped her write her resume.. told her where and how to drop my name.. (and it really did help her) andshe got the job. i also told her how to apply for a leave of absence rather thant quit her city job.. so last week she calls me and asks me bout when do we get paid.. now nyc teachers get paid like the 1st of september i believe.. but out here it varies and in my district its sept 14th..
would u believe this heifer yelled at me? i mean YELLED..she was like wait i needed thatm oney on the 1st to pay my bills.. i told her tell me bout it.. join the legion of LI teachers who are going to be broke till mid september.. she goes NO u dont 'understand i was depending on getting paid in september.. i said well.. u are getting paid in spt..just mid sept.. then THEN she goes.. (and i use caps to illustrate the raise in voice) DIDIN'T I ASK U THIS BEFORE!! ABOUT WHEN I WAS GOING TO GE PAID!!! i said.. well..wait a second.. r u yelling at me? dude r u serious? no u didn't ask e.. not that i recall but even if u didwhether or not u'r screwed right now cause u spent like a mad woman during the summer aint myfault..
i told her i'd talk to her later and hung up..
now she's a cool person.. i've known her for YEARS and we've never so much as had a discussion before.. and i KNOW she's got a lot on her plate.. so i'm trying to ignore it and let it go.. but.. i'm so tempted to scratch her off my wedding ist..
like i said .. i'm hyper sensitive this week.. i got loads of situations where other people irked me.. i need to go lock my self in a room and not associate with anyone till this passes...
