agreed with me that its time for him to quit smoking!! I will be smoke free in march for 3 years. I quit cold turkey and have been trying to get him to quit but you know its when your ready to quit that you can actually do it...He is getting sick of it and feels just like i did when i decided to quit!!

I also have told him he will not be allowed to smoke in our house or hold our children if he continues

but we called 311 last night and they will be sending him a 2 week supply of the patches

Fingers crossed that fh finally quits

Good luck to all of you trying to quit. I quit cold turkey in March 2000 after getting sick in Cancun from a spider bite. No patches, nothing and I personally think it's a better way to go only because the nicotine substitutes still give you the fix, making you want the real thing more (just my .02).

My mom quit the year before me and was dx with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer in August. While it's not the kind smokers typically get, smoking puts you at risk for cancer period. Not trying to scare anyone but living it with a loved one is HELL. If for no other reason try and quit so you and your future husband/wife will be at optimum health and be together for many many years.
