NWR: FH (sad vent)

NWR: FH (sad vent)

So yesterday I posted how FH is not into excercising right now. Well I realized last night that he has been really down since he got laid off (duh right?). He has had interviews that he hasn't told me about, when I asked him why he said 'I just want to be able to tell you I got hired somewhere'.

I don't feel like I've been sensitive enough during the past few months because I've been so preoccupied with my own anxieties about his situation. I want him to be able to talk to me about the good and the bad...that's what marriage is all about right?

So just had to vent..thanks for reading

Why not sit him down for a nice dinner one night and explain that you are there through good times and bad to support him in everything.

Offer to help him look for jobs online, offer to review his resume.

When my FH was laid off, I was VERY supportive....paid whatever I needed to without asking him for help, found him job postings online that I thought he might be qualified for, etc.

I think he might just need to know that you are there for him no matter what.

Yeah I do a lot of that for him, but I might do it in more of a buisness way than a wife way...so I need to def change my approach

I missed the whole FH not motivated to work out But maybe if you both can take walks or go to the gym together it might relieve both your stresses about the situation.

I am sorry for the both of you. He will find something its just the waiting that *****.

Thanks everyone...I really appreciate it....

Sometimes it's hard for me to separate work and home and to not micro manage everything...I'm going to work harder on being sensitive

Lori, just stay positive and be sure to let FH know that you are there for him through the good and bad and that whatever situation you guys are going through, as long as you communicate and support one another, will just make your relationship that much stronger.

I think it's good and important that you took a step back and realized how you might be acting and what the reasons were for it.
(gee... do i sound like a caseworker/sw/whatever the hell my title is lol)

I think all the ideas the other girls had are great

Thanks...the worst part about it is that I'm a therapist!!!

Talk about not following your own advice

I think it's really good that you've realized this is an issue. I think it's a really good step to take. I know that I ALWAYS micromanage. When FH is feeling bad, I attack it as if it's a work issue instead of an emotional issue. It's definitely something women do, and it's great that you've recognized it.

well at least you guys are discussing it now! That takes a lot to even recognize it on both parts! Something is bound to come up!!
