Tonight were taking his niece to the circus ..yay!!! We bought her tickets for her birthday.of course she gets dinner before hand wherever she chooses. They were kinda expensive but we thought what the heck... Her birthday is actually sunday, which I have an event at my church which I've been planning for months. Its a charity dinner to raise money for the church youth trips...so fh calls me at work and tells me he can't go bc his sis is having cake for his niece. Am I over reacting that I'm a lil upset he's canceling on my thing?

Your not- You plan according and you have a right to be annoyed!!
Side note: my FH works part-time at Nassau Coliseum- I know that where the circus is- Maybe you will see him :)

Re: nwr: fh slighty annoyed
I would be really irritated that he's bailing for cake after we put something so special together for her already. I feel like circus and dinner should more than make up for it... Its not like ur not going for cake to go to a novie or somethibg...
But at the same time I would tell him once you know it was really important to me that u come and then leave it alone. Its not worth gettibg in a fight that won't change anything but I'd be sure to let him know I'm disappointed and then let it go. I try not to stay mad over things like that. But I don't thibk you are wrong yto be annoyed

I'd be annoyed to. It wouldn't be difficult to say, I;m sorry I have a charity event that day.
Just explain you'd really like him to go with you, especially since he already committed to it.
It's just cake1

what, maybe i don't understand, were you both supposed to go out for dinner and the circus tonight? and then he canceled because his sister is having cake for his neice today? even though her birthday is on Sunday?
if that's the case, idon't understand why he wouldn't still come with you to dinner and the circus when you already paid for the tickets. and if her birthday is on sunday, why can't he go to her birthday party at his sister's house anyway?
