NWR: FH's on motorcycles...........

So my FH just joined a motorcycle class that youre required to be a part of in order to get your motorcycle license here in Wisconsin.
I HATE motorcycles because of how dangerous they can be. I really dont want him to get his license but hes going anyway. I mean, I would never tell him not to do something he really wants to do but he knows how much I dont want him to. (his mother is really against this also)

I guess im just looking for someone to put my mind at ease because I feel like theyre so dangerous and I just dont want anything to happen to him. How many ladies out there have FH's with motorcycles? Or even ride motorcycles themselves??

my FH has one but since we got engaged, he agreed to sell it.

ok i really dont think you girls are helping her AT ALL here

if he is anything like my FH he is going to get it no matter what

i have many friends that come from 'motorcycle families' and they only ride during the right conditions and always wear protective gear and so far no one has ever gotten hurt ( although many of them have been in CAR accidents )

everything is dangerous. . . you can't live your life in fear. if he wants to get one i am sure he will be responsible. . . just learn everything along with him so that you are better informed.

I was petrified of my FH having a boat until he took me on it and taught me how to drive it and taught me all the emergency procedures

FH really wants a Harley - and one day we will hopefully get one but right now we can't afford it. When/If he gets one we are both going to learn to ride it although I am sure I won't ride it after i learn LOL

Ok, I just told FH that he is definitely NOT getting a motorcycle!!

I knew they were dangerous but you guys basically just confirmed it for me. I mean, he can continue to get his license and all that but we will never have a motorcycle in our garage. I cant even imagine anything like the stories above happening to my FH, its just not worth it.

i know i didnt want to say anything, and i added the bad part later...but i had seen alot of others already wrote bad things that happen with motorcycles.

But just like cars anything can happen.

My whole point is definitely make sure the guy doesn't let it get to his head that he is an awesome rider after a short period of time and really gets used to the feel of a bike and the road

LOL.....well its not like he said, 'okay dear, whatever you say.'

Im sure he still thinks hes getting one but I have to be on board with it and I definitely am not!!
