NWR - F'ING PEDESTRIANS!!!!!

Ok, so I live next to the railroad tracks, and people use the tracks like a da*n nature trail. I can live with that. Here's the problem -

PEOPLE CUT ACROSS MY YARD TO GET TO THE TRACKS.

TOTAL F*ING STRANGERS, TRAIPSING ACROSS THE LAWN.

We rent, so we can't put up a fence. Here's the question - what can I spray on the lawn to either keep people off of it or ruin their shoes?

I'd put up a 'Private Property, No Tresspassing' sign.

ETA - I'd also tell people to get off your lawn when you see them!

I agree. Or maybe turn on the sprinklers (if you have them).

Put up a beware of dog sign, and then put out piles of fake dog poop around the yard.

Maybe people will get the hint.

ask your landlord to put up a fence, after all, these tresspassers are ruining his property too. It is your landlord's responsiblity if someone should get hurt on the property while they are walking to the tracks.

Shouldn't railroad tracks be fenced in anyway, to prevent people from walking along side or crossing them ? Might be something for the town to look into under the guise of public safety.

Seriously, at any given hour (and I mean ANY hour), you see at least a dozen people ambling along down the tracks. I've seen kids under 10 walking along, picking up and smashing bottles as they go. I'm guessing the RR doesn't fence in my yard because they have a switch box or some such thing on the edge of the property.

And generally, the lawn-crossers are not people I'd want to confront while home alone. I don't mind a woman and her kids, but 20-something guy wearing his colors? I'd rather lock my door and ruin his overpriced shoes.
