FH and I just closed on our first home together!! The whole process was a bit stressful, but I am so excited to start this next chapter in our lives! Looks like we'll move in around our 1 year mark until the wedding!

Congrats!!!! We are starting the 'serious' search at the end of this month. How did you find the process? My fiancee is convinced he will be the worst process of his entire life, but i'm not thinking it will be that terrible.

To be honest, the first few weeks are exciting, and then when you start to find houses you like, put offers in and you lose them, it starts to get frustrating. We put in offers on 5 houses, almost had 3 houses, but we lost them. We even almost lost the house we ended up with at one point. Be prepared for upsets. Finding the house you love is not easy lol but luckily after all of our bumps, we found our house. Even though it was a stressful process, we are happy we didn't end up with the other houses. Just rememeber that when you lose a house, that there is an even better one out there and that house just wasn't meant to be. Hard to believe I know, but believe me, it's true! Congrats! We have been on the house hunt for about 2 years now but we then decided that we would rather inherit my grandmothers house since its double the size of any in our neighborhood and its worth every dime to keep in the family! There was something we didn't like with EVERY house we looked at and I just got too overwhelmed and said enough is enough. Happy for you guys!

Congrats. We bought FH mothers house and decided to gut out the whole first floor and adding an expansion to the kitchen. I'm so excited!

Congrats! I'm in the process of selling my house so FH and I can buy one together. I think selling is more stressful than buying!!

We have been looking for a year now but don't want to move in until we are married. This makes it hard because we want to look to have an idea of the area and what we can afford, etc, but it's hard because when something good comes up we both agree that it doesn't make sense to have a mortgage when we don't even want to live in the house yet. I feel like it will be very tough for everything to fall into place just at the right time, but hopefully it will lol!
