Yesterday was my mom's birthday and so I went to our usual florist and bought her a beautiful bouquet of two-tone pink roses with white and pink hydrangeas (pretty $$). We've been using this florist for years and he is actually supposed to do my wedding flowers. Well I spoke with my mom today and she is telling me that the flowers are dying! Im like how can that be?! They looked beautiful yesterday... So now I dont know what I should do now...should I call the florist and let him know what happened or just let it slide. Maybe its just the kind of flowers that I got...
What do you ladies think?

Did she cut the stems before putting them in water? Because the stems seal up when cut, that is why you must cut them before putting in water so the water can get to the flower. Also remove the leaves off the flowers so most of the water feeds the flower and the leaves.

roses should hold up and last for a good while. i'm not so sure about hydrangeas. i have a bushel of hydrangeas in my backyard. they're beautiful but i wouldn't dare cut them. i remember cutting some to place in the house. however pretty they can be they wilted on me at a moment's glance - well, not that quickly but you get the gist. but coming from a florist...? they should be able to hold up for a couple of days (i think).

talk to your florist. They should NOT be dying for at least a week.
I used all nicole roses (2 tone red and white) for my wedding and my roses were still alive when I got back from my honeymoon 12 days later.

I know you're worried about stirring up trouble but honestly, the florist is a business just like everyone else. They will want to honor their committment to quality to you even more so that they are going to do your wedding. Give them a call and have them send a new arrangement.
