What are you guys doing for your FMIL for mother's day?
I was thinking of taking both my mom and my FMIL and my FSIL out for a brunch but my FMIL isn't really a social gal and my FSIL is a cheapskate and wouldn't pay $40 for herself for brunch.
So... now I'm not sure what I should do for FMIL and FGMIL (future grandma in law) for mothers day.
Is a wine basket with FMIL's fave wines good enough?
Tom and I were talking about a new bird bath for FGMIL but we havent found one we liked thats affordable.

I think the wine is a wonderful and thoughtful idea!!! I definitly think it's enough but if you wanna go overboard a little, you could always get her some sort of custom wine glass to go with it~!

And BTW... I know what you mean about unsocial FMIL... it's the opposite in my family, though. It's my mom who isn't very social. It can be a bit frustrating sometimes.
It makes me a little sad that she's so unsocial sometimes. Her and I get along GREAT and the first time she met my mom they seemed to get along well. I know its not against my mom specific but sometimes I'd wish she'd participate in things a little more often. I was happy that she actually came to the tasting at our venue when we asked her :)
I definitely think I'm gonna do the wine basket for her. I know she has certain wines that she likes so I'm just gonna double check on that and make one up for her.
And good idea on the wine glass!!!

I don't think its polite for me to write on here what I would like to do for FMIL for mothers day...lol
I think you've taken the time to include her (and fgmil) and think of personalized gifts...that's great and I'm sure they will appreciate it!

Fh is in control of what we do for his mom for mothers day because May 12th is my moms birthday. Fun right? Every few years her birthday falls on mothers day. And she won't only take one presents gotta get her two separate ones. Gotta love her lol.

Katie, I think that's a great idea! It's thoughtful and useful and sounds perfect! I honestly forget to make the connection between FH's mom and mother's day. She'll probably have plans that don't involve any of her children, which is fine with me because I can spend the whole day with MY mom, who is the awesomest.

I have no clue. I am keeping it cheap though this year for my mom & FMIL since we are cutting back for the wedding. We don't buy for the grandmas.

I'm not buying for FMIL since I don't have one. I was going to bring my mom to brunch at the the Mansion in West Sayville, but she told me not to waste my money, but to instead buy her a cheese grater. This lady!

That's where I was gonna bring my mom and fmil! I figured it would have been a nice way to taste more of their food for the wedding LOL

Every year I made a delicious spread for mothers day for my mother and FMIL. I always cook b/c we usually take my mother out on the 14th whcih is her birthday! If it happens to land on mothers day, we take her out the next day. I have done surf and turf, bbq and this year I'm doing homemade roast beef and turkey sandwiches, pasta salad, grilled veggies. We also buy them gifts, FH is really no help in most of this! LOL but I do it for the same reason I host EVERY holiday. I won't split the day and not spend the entire thing with my Mama

Last year I had FML and FSIL and her husband and two little girls over at our apartment for lunch. We're thinking of the same this year and having my mom and her husband come. Our apartment is small but I love to host!
