nwr- FML (dance related)

back story:
I've been teaching at my current studio for 8 years... I've had one student for going on 6 years... my others range from 3-5 years. I've been pushing and pushing to have two classes, one soft shoe (think ballet) and one hardshoe (think tap)... so this year I finally got my two classes. well in order for a class to go ahead you need at least 8 students in it... sometimes he'll make an exception and do 6... well so far for my summer classes:

TWO in hardshoe
FIVE in softshoe

I accepted like TWENTY onto my lines. I'm thinking a lot of kids got scared away because of the requirements... and its only the first week back and a lot of people haven't signed up yet. I'm not so worried about the softshoe.. I'm worried about the hardshoe. I know one is still away on vacation and she's def doing it, but there are two in softshoe that I figured were taking hardshoe... then one that is so excited about hardshoe but hasn't signed up for anything... THEN my ONE student whos been so so so so so excited about hardshoe... I mean like went crazy when i told her we were doing it... well she dropped Irish all together.

I just don't get it! I mean, I've proven that I can produce amazing numbers, I mean this was our first year competing and at all 3 competitions we placed GOLD and HIGH SCORE!

at auditions I had so many kids telling me they wanted to make my line because they never realized how cool and different Irish was... and I took them all.

so yea... I have a feeling that my hardshoe class is going to be canceled, which will mean I'll loose my 6yr student because she doesn't want to do softshoe anymore and needs a challenge.

please cross your fingers that more kids sign up!

thanks for reading.
